Main features of the granted project

  • August 15, 2019
A grant project is a grant awarded to organizations and individuals for the purpose of pursuing a non-profit-making activity that is specified in a grantor-approved proposal. In order for the application to fulfill its role is to receive the resources for the project implementation, it is necessary to write it correctly and clearly for the grantor’s perception. A project only then has a chance of success when it is logical, the objectives of the project are consistent with the goal, the means of implementation are tasks when the management is simple and efficient, the budget is real.

First of all, we need to define what we mean by the term "project". A project is a set of activities that are undertaken to achieve clearly defined goals within the allotted time and through the use of financial resources (budget).

There are a few characteristic features of the project that distinguish it from other activities:

    1. Goal-oriented. The project is aimed at achieving a certain goal, that is, it is not only a set of activities implemented, such as the number of seminars held. It is extremely important that these activities help you achieve the specific goal you have set for yourself. Such an aim could be, for example, to improve the mechanism for providing administrative services to residents of the territorial community. In this case, the seminars will serve as a means of achieving this goal. If you need any help or consultation you can always find this online.

    2. Defined duration. The project has a certain time-limited integrity. It has a definite start date, a definite period of duration, and therefore, a definite end date, we must achieve the planned goal within the allotted time, so the implementation of the project requires a considerable organizational skill. International technical assistance projects have a very strict approach to meeting deadlines. If the completion date of the project is, for example, July 1, it means that after that date you cannot spend money from the project budget.

    3. Uniqueness. This characteristic means that the project is something exceptional, that it is not a routine activity that has been repeatedly performed. For example, it will not be a project of the day-to-day work of civil servants to address the issues raised by citizens. It is repetitive work, and it also belongs to the typical tasks of a public authority. Instead, the project is a set of activities that have not yet taken place in this configuration, although many of them may have taken place separately. Such a set of actions should be unique, not separate actions in themselves. For example, you have already conducted some seminars for executive officers, but now you are planning to create an entire training cycle, and this seminar cycle has a specific purpose. This is an exceptional set of measures, as this cycle has not yet been implemented.

    4. High complexity. The project consists of many closely related activities. Such measures are carried out in a non-random sequence and must be carried out according to a scheduled schedule at a specified time. As a rule, a large number of individuals, as well as external institutions, enterprises or organizations are involved in the project implementation process, which complicates the project management process even more.

Each project has its own dedicated budget, a team of contractors selected for the project, as well as relevant material resources. It is not possible to execute a project without first identifying and providing these funds.
